Mountainside spa has offered chair massage inside Slope Side Café for a few years now, giving people a chance to take advantage of our relaxing services during their quick ski break. Skiers love the chair massages! It’s a perfect addition to their ski break and gives them a feel for what a full massage might be like from that therapist.
The café is a lively place to be in during the day. It’s full of people grabbing lunch, and taking a break for water, hot cocoa, and coffee. It’s an energetic social scene comprised of locals, Alta employees and tourists walking around in their ski gear and enjoying their day on the mountain. Skiers love to take advantage of a few “pick-me-up” minutes on the massage chair to rejuvenate and energize their bodies to get back on the slopes again.
The Slope Side Café is located inside the Goldminer’s Daughter Lodge just off the main lobby on the first floor. It can be accessed from the lobby and from outside-just across the way from the Collin’s Lift Line at the Wildcat Base of Alta Ski Area. The chair massage is set up on the far side of the Café right next to the couches and tables. It has a great view of Collin’s Lift which is just outside the large windows.
We will do chair massage for any amount of time requested by the client, however, we suggest that after about 20 minutes, it is much more beneficial for the client to transfer to one of our warm and comfortable spa rooms and take advantage of our 25, 50, 75 or 100 minute massages.
During a chair massage, we can include back, head, neck, arm and hand massages. You can still keep your ski clothing and boots on in order to keep your break short. Don’t forget, if you feel you need reflexology, aromatherapy or other special treatments that focus on legs, we suggest booking an appointment in a spa room.
When: 10a.m. -3:30 p.m
Cost: $1 per minute
Remember that you don’t have to stay at The Rustler Lodge Spa or go all the way down to Snowbird in order to receive relaxing spa services. Goldminer’s Daughter Spa has amazing spa services to offer guests of the lodge or the mountain and is the perfect location for SLC/Alta locals, season pass holders, and tourists to take advantage of.
